Projects
EcoAmmo has helped certify over 260 LEED certified projects!
The bulk of our projects are LEED but we work with many other green building rating systems. Furthermore, in the last few years we have branched out from green building facilitation to include Integrated Project Delivery and High Performance Team facilitation as part of our repertoire of services.
Since 2006, EcoAmmo’s small team has had a significant and positive impact in our community. As experienced leaders, we have participated in numerous ‘firsts’ in our industry such as:
The first LEED neighbourhood developments in Alberta and British Columbia
All three certified LEED Platinum projects in Edmonton
The first Net Zero Energy designed home in Edmonton
The first Net Zero Energy designed commercial building in Alberta
The first Net Zero Energy designed firehall in Edmonton
The first Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) project in Alberta
The first projects in our region to attempt Living Building Challenge, WELL, and Zero Carbon certification
Did you know that EcoAmmo has worked on 30% of the certified LEED projects in Edmonton!
We have highlighted three flagship projects below but many more are worthy of showcasing too. Check back for updates soon!
The priMED Mosaic Centre is one of EcoAmmo's most prominent projects; it is one of Canada’s most leading edge commercial green buildings and Alberta’s first attempt at a Net Zero Energy commercial building. It is powered by solar photovoltaic panels, heated & cooled by geothermal energy, provides fresh outdoor air and utilizes non-toxic and environmentally friendly materials. The building was designed to meet 3 of 5 of the Living Building Challenge (LBC) Petals including Site, Energy and Beauty and achieved LEED Platinum certification. The design and construction process used the Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) model and as a result the building was completed 4 months ahead of schedule and 5% below budget! To find out more about the project and receive access to incredible design and construction resources please visit the project’s website.

The City of Edmonton Windermere Fire Station is Station No. 31 for the City of Edmonton Fire Rescue Services and is located in southwest Edmonton. The building is the City of Edmonton’s first attempt at a Net Zero Energy fire station. It is being designed to reach the City’s Sustainable Building Policy C-532 including the requirements to meet LEED Silver and the 40/40/80 initiative. This initiative asks the design team to demonstrate 40% or greater energy efficiency than the National Energy Code of Canada for Buildings (NECB) 2011; 40% or greater greenhouse gas reduction than the NECB 2011 reference building and <80 kilowatt hours per square meter (ekWh/m2) for Annual Heating Demand for all non-office building archetypes. EcoAmmo is acting as the LEED Project Manager and Net Zero Energy coordinator.

Okanagan College Health Sciences Centre will be an integrated learning centre that will include programs such as practical nursing, pharmacy technician, human service worker and early childhood education. The new facility will ensure that Okanagan College continues to train students for health science careers that are in demand in the province. This project is one of the first attempts to combine three leading edge certifications; LEED, WELL Building Standard and Zero Carbon Building Standard. The College is setting their sights high and have set a goal to reach LEED Gold, WELL Silver and Zero Carbon Design certification. EcoAmmo is acting as the project managers for all three certifications.
